Thrive through Perimenopause and Beyond

I am on this journey too...

After the birth of my youngest, at age 39, I had an incredibly difficult time getting back to my baseline and feeling like myself again. I had trouble losing the baby weight despite working out consistently and trying to eat a plant-based diet. But I kept doing the same things I had always been doing because they worked in the past, right? Fast-forward a few years and I was struggling; mentally and physically. I was EXHAUSTED. I chalked it up to having 3 young very dependent kids, a stressful job, a father battling brain cancer, and aging. I was having more trouble sleeping despite the fact that I was often so tired that it hurt. I felt more anxious and stressed than I ever had before. Yes, I had a lot on my plate but I NEVER considered that I could be starting to experience the hormonal changes of perimenopause as well. I thought I was too young BUT as I learned more about this phase of life, I realized THIS IS ME! I was experiencing many of the common perimenopause symptoms and I did not know how to address them. My medical training did NOT prepare me for this. So, I began to educate myself and the more I learned the more indignant I grew. Why don't we talk about this? And why do women suffer without the knowledge to make lifestyle changes that work WITH the hormonal changes that are inevitable? My indignation grew into Passion and then a Dream was born. That I would be a voice to advocate, educate, support and help women like me. Women like YOU. It is possible to navigate perimenopause with confidence, understanding, power, and grace but it does take a PLAN. Let's DO this together! Our older selves will thank us.

Background

I have over a decade of experience working in Healthcare as a Physician Assistant, primarily in Oncology and Internal Medicine. I have had the incredible privilege to work with patients across a wide range of settings and I have and do love that work. But, I know firsthand the limitations of the current ways we practice medicine. We do not have time to provide personalized lifestyle "prescriptions" for diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, and mental health. But those are the changes that TRANSFORM lives. I wanted to do better. These realizations inspired me to pursue certifications in Health Coaching, Plant-Based Nutrition, and Menopause which provided the education and training to allow me to take a more holistic, personalized approach to helping others thrive.

My Current Favs:

  • Exploring new cities with my husband.

  • Adventuring with my 3 energetic kiddos.

  • Quiet time to start my day

  • Lifting heavy and refreshing walks.
