Thrive through Perimenopause and Beyond
Why am I the Right Person to Help you?
After the birth of my youngest, at age 39, I had an incredibly difficult time getting back to my baseline and feeling like myself again. I had trouble losing the baby weight despite working out consistently and trying to eat a plant-heavy diet. Fast-forward a few years and I was struggling, mentally, physically. I was EXHAUSTED. I chalked it up to having 3 young, very dependent kids, a stressful job, a father battling brain cancer, and aging. I was having more trouble sleeping despite the fact that I was often so tired that it hurt. I felt more anxious and stressed than I ever had before. I NEVER considered that I could be starting to experience the hormonal changes of perimenopause. I thought I was too young BUT as I learned more about this infrequently discussed and poorly understood phase of life, I realized THIS IS ME! I was experiencing many of the common perimenopause symptoms and I did not know how to address them. My medical training did NOT prepare me for this. So, I began to educate myself and the more I learned the more indignant I grew. Why don't we talk about this? And why do we let women suffer without the knowledge to make lifestyle changes that work WITH the hormonal changes that are inevitable? My indignation grew into Passion and then a Dream was born. That I would be a voice to advocate, educate, support and help women like me. Women like YOU. It is possible to navigate perimenopause with knowledge, understanding, power, and grace but it does take a PLAN. Let's DO this together!

How I Can Help
A Health Coach is a trained professional who helps individuals make sustainable lifestyle changes to improve their physical, emotional, and mental well-being. We provide guidance in areas like nutrition, exercise, stress management, sleep, and habit change. I focus on personalized, goal-oriented support that empowers women to take control of their health.
Background
I have over a decade of experience working in Healthcare as a Physician Assistant, primarily in Oncology and Internal Medicine. I have had the incredible privilege to work with patients across a wide range of settings and I have and do love that work. But, I know firsthand the limitations of the current ways we practice medicine. We do not have time to provide personalized lifestyle "prescriptions" for diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, and mental health for each patient. That takes A Lot of time and frequent follow up, both of which are in short supply in most medical settings. I want to do better. Better by the patients who WANT to take control of their health but are not sure how and need ongoing support to be consistent with those changes. And better by the patients who do not realize how their lifestyle choices are impacting their life and the development of chronic disease. These realizations inspired me to pursue certifications in Health Coaching and Plant-Based Nutrition, which provided the education and training to allow me to take a more holistic, personalized approach to helping others thrive.
